DESCRIPTION:This workshop will cover the programming environment of the Cra
y XK7 hybrid supercomputer\, which combines multicore CPUs with GPU accele
 rators (http://www.cray.com/Products/Computing/XK7.aspx). Attendees will l
earn about the directive-based OpenACC programming model (http://www.opena
cc-standard.org)\, whose multi-vendor support allows users to portably dev
elop applications for parallel accelerated supercomputers.\nThe workshop w
ill also demonstrate how to use the Cray Programming Environment tools to
identify CPU application bottlenecks\, facilitate the OpenACC porting\, pr
ovide accelerated performance feedback and to tune the ported applications
. The Cray scientific libraries for accelerators will be presented\, and i
nteroperability of OpenACC directives with these and with CUDA will be dem
onstrated. Through application case studies and tutorials\, users will gai
n direct experience of using OpenACC directives in realistic applications.
An outlook to OpenMP-4.0 accelerator support will be added.\nUsers may al
so bring their own codes to discuss with Cray specialists or begin porting
.\nThis course provides scientific training in Computational Science\, and
in addition\, the scientific exchange of the participants among themselve
 s.\n\nhttps://events.prace-ri.eu/event/342/
