DESCRIPTION:Massively parallel simulations in computational engineering are
often carried out with Open Source software providing good scalability. T
hese software do not usually come with nicely integrated pre- and postproc
essors. Instead\, the users often use a combination of different tools in
different stages of the simulation. This course presents some widely used
software for computational engineering for the different stages of the sim
ulation. Emphasis on the course will be on the use of two versatile finite
elements packages - FENiCS and Elmer - and on the visualization of the re
sults. Both serial and parallel operation will be demonstrated. The course
will be relevant for specialists working with R&amp\;D in computational e
 ngineering (electromagnetics\, fluid dynamics\, mechanics).Tentative agend
