DESCRIPTION:# Overview\nIn this course\, R programmers will learn how to de
 velop R packages\, the best way to make R scripts reusable. Participants w
 ill learn how to create clear\, clean and usable packages in R\, and to di
 stribute them if needed.\n\nThis course is recommended even for programmer
 s who do not plan to distribute their R scripts or datasets: R packages ar
 e also useful for a developer who works alone\, and wants to keep track of
  his scripts and the related documentation.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is 
 addressed to Biologists\, bioinformaticians or any R user who has written 
 R scripts and wants to package them.\n\n# Learning outcomes\nAt the end of
  the course\, the participants will be able to:\n* identify why and when R
  packages should be used\, and which scripts would benefit from being pack
 aged\;\n* identify what makes a good package\;\n* build an R Package\, inc
 luding functions\, datasets and documentation\;\n* add unit tests to their
  package\;\n* determine the best way to distribute a package.\n\n# Prerequ
 isites\n### ***Knowledge / competencies***\nThis course is designed for in
 termediate users who have already a good knowledge in R and have developed
  their own functions and/or scripts.\n\n\n### ***Technical***\nYou are req
 uired to bring your own laptop\, with a working Wifi connection\, and the 
 latest versions of R (at least 4.1) and RStudio installed. \n\n# Applicati
 on\nThe registration fees for academics are **100 CHF** and **500 CHF** fo
 r for-profit companies.\n\nYou will be informed by email of your registrat
 ion confirmation. Upon reception of the confirmation email\, participants 
 will be asked to confirm attendance by paying the fees within 5 days.\n\nA
 pplications will close as soon as the places will be filled up. Deadline f
 or free-of-charge cancellation is set to *14/08/2023*. Cancellation after 
 this date will not be reimbursed. Please note that participation in SIB co

 t University of Lausanne.\nThe course will start at 9:00 and end around 17
