DESCRIPTION:# Overview\nIn this course\, R programmers will learn how to de
 velop R packages\, the best way to make R scripts reusable and to improve 
 the reproducibility of their work. Participants will learn how to create c
 lear\, clean and usable packages in R\, and to distribute them if needed. 
 At the same time\, they will improve their understanding of the \ninner wo
 rkings of R\, something that will be useful to them even outside of the cr
 eation of R packages.\n\nThis course is recommended even for programmers w
 ho do not plan to distribute their R scripts or datasets: R packages are a
 lso useful for a developer who works alone\, and wants to keep track of hi
 s scripts and the related documentation.\n\n# Audience\nThis course is add
 ressed to Biologists\, bioinformaticians or any R user who has written R s
 cripts and wants to package them.\n\n# Learning outcomes\nAt the end of th
 e course\, the participants will be able to:\n* identify why and when R pa
 ckages should be used\, and which scripts would benefit from being package
 d\;\n* identify what makes a good package\;\n* build an R Package\, includ
 ing functions\, datasets and documentation\;\n* add unit tests to their pa
 ckage\;\n* determine the best way to distribute a package.\n\n# Prerequisi
 tes\n### ***Knowledge / competencies***\nThis course is designed for inter
 mediate users who have already a good knowledge in R and have developed th
 eir own functions and/or scripts.\n\n\n### ***Technical***\nYou are requir
 ed to have your own laptop\, with a working Wifi connection\, and the late
 st versions of R (at least 4.1) and RStudio installed. \n\n# Application\n
 \nThe registration fees for academics are **100 CHF** and **500 CHF** for 
 for-profit companies.\n\nWhile participants are registered on a first come
 \, first served basis\, exceptions may be made to ensure diversity and equ
 ity\, which may increase the time before your registration is confirmed.\n
 \nApplications will close as soon as the places will be filled up\, but no
 t later than **13/08/2025**. Deadline for free-of-charge cancellation is s
 et to **13/08/2025**. Cancellation after this date will not be reimbursed.
 \n\nYou will be informed by email of your registration confirmation. Upon 
 reception of the confirmation email\, participants will be asked to confir
