DESCRIPTION:Educator:\nDennis Psaroudakis (GCBN\, Data Steward for SNP2Prot
 )\n\nDate:\n21st January 2026\, 9:00am – 12:00am/noon.\n\nLocation:\n\nL
eibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research\, BIZ Seminar r
oom\n\nContents:\nThe workshop briefly introduces general Research Data Ma
nagement (RDM) principles and practices\, followed by hands-on work with A
nnotated Research Contexts (ARCs)\, which are FAIR Digital Objects based o
 n RO-Crate standards that bundle raw data\, metadata\, workflows\, and cod
e for full reproducibility of studies from assays to analyses. Participant
s use the ARCitect GUI software to create and manage ARCs\, processing an
example dataset step-by-step\, while learning to leverage the PLANTdataHUB
 —a GitLab-based platform—for collaborative backup\, versioning\, and s
haring of ARCs. \n\nLearning goals:\nParticipants gain foundational RDM kn
owledge and practical skills to build ARCs using the ARCitect\, enabling s
tructured annotation and management of their plant research data. By the e
nd\, attendees can apply the ARC framework to their own datasets\, using t
he PLANTdataHUB for collaboration and FAIR-compliant storage to support re
producibility and reuse.\n\nPrerequisites:\nThe workshop targets plant
scientists\, including PhD students\, postdocs\, and researchers new to st
ructured RDM or seeking to adopt ARCs and the DataPLANT infrastructure for
data handling and publishing. Attendees need a git.nfdi4plants.org accoun
t (create one at https://git.nfdi4plants.org/ if you do not have one alrea
dy and confirm login details beforehand)\; no prior software installation
is required\; you can bring your own laptop but otherwise laptops will be
 provided.\n\nKeywords:\nAnnotated Research Context\, ARCitect\, DataPLANT\
 , Research Data Management\, FAIR data\n\nTools:\nARCitect (https://github
 .com/nfdi4plants/ARCitect )\, PLANTdataHUB (https://git.nfdi4plants.org )
