The Information Services Division (ISD) of NHS Scotland produces around 200 statistics publications per year. Traditionally they are presented as static pdf documents with accompanying Excel tables, and their production requires extensive manual formatting using a combination of proprietary software tools. The Transforming Publishing Programme (TPP) is modernising the way in which these statistics are produced (using R and git to create Reproducible Analytical Pipelines (RAP)) and presented (using R Shiny).
