About the event

We invite all fellows and those with an interest in our work to the Royal Statistical Society's Statistical Excellence Awards, which will be followed by the Society’s summer drinks reception.

Our annual Awards ceremony is the ideal time to celebrate all the fantastic work that has been done with statistics and data over the past year.

Every year we recognise journalists’ outstanding use of data and statistics in the media with the Statistical Excellence in Journalism Awards, which are kindly sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

We will also commend, in partnership with the UK Statistics Authority, the work of statisticians in government with the Campion Award for Excellence in Official Statistics. We are grateful to Civil Service World which is, once again, the media partner for this prize.

Also to be announced at the ceremony is the winner of the Statistical Excellence in Early Career Writing competition, awarded in partnership with Significance magazine and the RSS Young Statisticians Section, as well as two inspiration awards for the RSS's Statistics of the Year.

The awards will be hosted by RSS's President, Professor Deborah Ashby.

Attendance is free and open to all, whether fellows of the RSS or not, but pre-registration is required.
