tics%20SANGER%20STAFF) to be notified once a place becomes available. Afte
r accepting an offer\, a place will be booked and you will receive a confi
rmation email with relevant payment details. \n \n \n\n\n\nProgramme\n
\nThe Sanger Institute Graduate Computational Skills Programme\n\nModule 6
: Core Statistics\n\nThis course is intended to provide a strong foundatio
n in practical statistics and data analysis using the R software environme
nt. The underlying philosophy of the course is to treat statistics as a pr
actical skill rather than as a theoretical subject and as such the course
focuses on methods for addressing real-life issues in the biological scien
ces.\n\nThere are three core goals for this course:\n\n#	Use R confidently
for statistics and data analysis\n#	Be able to analyse datasets using sta
ndard statistical techniques\n#	Know which tests are and are not appropria
te\n\nIn this course\, we explore classical statistical analysis technique
s starting with simple hypothesis testing and building up to linear models
and power analyses. The focus of the course is on practical implementatio
n of these techniques and developing robust statistical analysis skills ra
ther than on the underlying statistical theory.\n\nAfter the course you sh
ould feel confident to be able to select and implement common statistical
techniques using R and moreover know when\, and when not\, to apply these
techniques.\n\nThis module consists of 3 full day sessions. \n\nDelivery\n
 \nAll sessions are in-person.
