DESCRIPTION:Scientific visualization\, sometimes referred to as visual data
analysis\, uses the graphical representation of data as a means of gainin
g understanding and insight into the data. It is more and more important i
n scientific research of today\, since datasets are growing at an extremel
 y rapid pace.\nThis course\, by Kitware\, provides a hands-on overview of
the ParaView visualization application. The basic interactive visual explo
ration process is demonstrated\, including data loading\, data processing\
, adjusting parameters and data interaction. Key concepts such as cutting\
, clipping\, contouring\, probing\, and glyphing are discussed in this cou
rse. This course provides examples of generating output in the form of pro
 cessed data\, rendered images\, and animations.\nParaView is an open-sourc
 e\, multi-platform (Windows\, Linux\, Mac) application and framework for t
he visualization and analysis of data sets of varying sizes from small to
 very large.Prerequisites\nPrevious knowledge\, even elementary\, of visual
ization\, data analysis\, or scientific computing is helpful to follow thi
s course. Program\nThis course will cover the following topics:\n Introd
uction to Visualization Toolkit (VTK): short introduction addressing the k
 ey concepts\n	\n Interface to ParaView\n	\n Opening and importing data i
 n ParaView\n	\n Display and data visualization\n	\n Handling and data an
alysis\n	\n Parallel processing: how to install and configure a cluster o
 f ParaView\nLecturer: Julien Jomier (Kitware SAS)Price: Free of charge\n
