DESCRIPTION: \n\nTowards new ways of documenting network effects in resear
ch\, innovation and training\n\nDuring the first round of RI-PATHS worksho
ps it became evident that a number of specific impact pathways and mechani
sms are especially (albeit not necessarily exclusively) relevant for distr
ibuted RIs. Due to their specific set-up these tend to generate particular
ly strong effects through the networking of diverse knowledge sources and
the development of new ways of knowledge diffusion with implications for r
esearch\, innovation and training. In this area\, some distributed RIs hav
e piloted a range of relevant methods of data collection and analysis whic
h can be relevant for various types of RIs\, including non-distributed one
s.\n\nAgainst this background\, this workshop will present and further exp
lore concrete methodologies to collect data on network effects in research
\, innovation and training\, highlight the analytical limits of quantitati
ve methods in this context and explore qualitative approaches which could
be applied to tackle the current challenges.\n\nAgenda\n\nELIXIR workshop_
