DESCRIPTION:The registration to this course is now open. Please\, bring yo
ur own laptop. All the PATC courses at BSC are free of charge.\n\nCourse
convener: Mariano Vazquez\n\nLecturers:  Mariano Vázquez (BSC)\, Okba H
amitou (Atos)\, Ricard Borrell (BSC)\, Diana Fernandez Velez (BSC)\, Car
los Teijeiro Barjas (SURFsara)\, Ben Czaja (UvA)\, Paul Melis (SURFsara)
 \, Cristobal Samaniego (BSC)\, David Oks (BSC)\, Alfonso Santiago(BSC)\,
  Alexander Heifetz (EVOTEC)\, Andrea Townsend-Nicholson (UCL).\n\nObject
ives:The objetive of this course is to give a panorama on the use of HPC-b
ased computational mechanics in Engineering and Environment through the pr
ojects BSC are carrying on. This panorama includes the basics of what is b
ehind the main tools: computational mechanics and parallelization. The tra
ining is delivered in collaboration with the center of excellence CompBioM
ed.\n\nLearning outcomes: The course gives a wide perspective and the late
st trends of how HPC helps in industrial\, clinical and research applicati
ons allowing to achieve more realistic multiphysics simulations.  In addi
tion\, the student has the opportunity of running Jobs in Marenostrum supe
rcomputer.\n\nLevel: INTERMEDIATE: For trainees with some theoretical and
