DESCRIPTION:Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done
  in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing
  skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools\, incl
 uding program design\, version control\, data management\, and task automa
 tion. Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply wha
 t they have learned to their own research problems.\n\nFor more informatio
 n on what we teach and why\, please see our paper "Best Practices for Scie
 ntific Computing".\n\nWho: The course is aimed at graduate students and ot
 her researchers. You don't need to have any previous knowledge of the tool
 s that will be presented at the workshop.\n\nWhere: This training will tak
 e place online. The instructors will provide you with the information you 
 will need to connect to this meeting.\n\nWhen: Nov 15-18\, 2021\n\nRequire
 ments: Participants must have access to a computer with a Mac\, Linux\, or
  Windows operating system (not a tablet\, Chromebook\, etc.) that they hav
 e administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software p
 ackages installed (listed below).\n\nAccessibility: We are dedicated to pr
