DESCRIPTION:A Software Carpentry boot camp is intended to help scientists a
 nd engineers become more productive by teaching software development skill
 s that enable more to be done\, in less time\, and with less pain. Over tw
 o days we will cover: using version control to manage and share informatio
 n\; using Python for scientific programming\; how (and how much) to test p
 rograms\; and\, documentation and debugging.\nFor this boot camp\, we expe
 ct attendees to have some experience of writing code and be familiar with 
 conditionals\, loops\, arrays and functions. Attendees will also be expect
 ed also be comfortable with using the bash shell. Attendees will be asked 
 to complete a short pre-assessment as part of the registration process so 
 that instruction can be tailored to their needs and skills.\nSoftware Carp
 entry's teaching is hands-on\, so attendees will be required to bring thei
 r own laptops. We will provide instructions on setting up the required sof
 tware well in advance of the boot camp.\nThe boot camp is free to attend a
