DESCRIPTION:This full-day\, in-person workshop will provide a practical int
 roduction to carrying out common statistical tests in R. Through a combina
 tion of short theoretical refreshers\, live demonstrations and hands-on ex
 ercises\, participants will learn how to choose\, run\, interpret and repo
 rt statistical tests using real-world\, health-related examples. \n\nWe wi
 ll cover the core principles behind hypothesis testing and give participan
 ts the confidence to apply statistical methods to their own datasets. We w
 ill explore commonly used tests with an emphasis on understanding when eac
 h test is appropriate and how to interpret the output in R. \n\nThis works
 hop is designed for participants who want a focused\, supportive learning 
 environment with live instructor guidance. Participants will build confide
 nce not only in running specific statistical tests\, but also in applying 
 the same principles to other analyses in their own work. \n\nThis course i
 s for you if: \n\nYou need to apply statistical tests to datasets in your 
 current or future role \nYou have some basic experience using R and RStudi
 o \nYou have a basic understanding of statistics but would like more confi
 dence applying tests in practice \nYou work in a health-related\, biomedic
 al\, clinical\, administrative or academic setting \nYou learn best throug
 h hands-on practice with opportunities to ask questions in real time \nBy 
 the end of the workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the
  basic logic of hypothesis testing in R \nChoose appropriate statistical t
 ests for different types of data and research questions \nRun common stati
 stical tests using R \nInterpret statistical output and understand what th
 e results mean \nRecognise when assumptions need to be checked before appl
 ying a test \nApply the same general workflow to statistical tests not cov
 ered directly in the workshop \nThe day will include a mixture of short te
 aching sessions\, guided coding demonstrations\, practical exercises and o
 pportunities for discussion. Participants should bring a laptop with R and
  RStudio installed and should have a basic working knowledge of R before a
