DESCRIPTION:The rise of big data has made it essential to be able to analys
e and perform experiments on large datasets in a portable and reproducible
manner. Nextflow is a popular bioinformatics workflow orchestrator that m
akes it easy to run data-intensive computational pipelines. It enables sca
lable and reproducible scientific workflows using software containers on a
ny infrastructure. It allows the adaptation of workflows written in most l
anguages and provides the ability to customise and optimise workflows for
different computational environments\, types and sizes of data.\n\nLearn t
o build reproducible and scalable scientific workflows with Nextflow in th
is two-part workshop. Part one covers the fundamental principles of Nextfl
ow pipeline development using the “Hello Nextflow” materials. Part two
  offers practical\, hands-on experience creating a multi-sample Nextflow w
 orkflow for RNAseq data preparation.\n\n## Format\n\n**Lead Trainers:**\nF
red Jaya\, Senior Bioinformatician (Australian BioCommons)\, Sydney Inform
atics Hub\, University of Sydney.\nDr Michael Geaghan\, Senior Bioinformat
ician (Australian BioCommons)\, Sydney Informatics Hub\, University of Syd
 ney.\n\n**Date/Time:** 22 - 23 July 2025\, 1-5pm AEST/ 12:30-4:30pm ACST /
11-3pm AWST\n\nThis workshop will take place over **two sessions** via a
 [distributed training methodology](https://journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/
 article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pcbi.1008715). \n\nParticipants will join i
n person satellite sites at host universities and research institutes acro
ss Australia which will connect via Zoom with lead trainers Fred Jaya and
Michael Geaghan. All sites will be supported by experienced local facilit
ators\, who will guide you through hands-on activities and help you put yo
ur new skills into action\n\nSatellite sites will be located in central lo
 cations in:\n\n- Brisbane\n- Sydney\n- Perth\n- Adelaide\n- Melbourne\n- C
anberra \n\n## Who the workshop is for:\n\nThis is a workshop for people
developing reproducible bioinformatics workflows.\n\n## How to apply:\n\nT
his workshop is free but participation is subject to application with sele
ction. During the application process you must choose the satellite site y
ou would like to join.\n\nApplications close at **11:59pm AEST\, Friday 27
June 2025**.\n\nApplications are reviewed by the organising committee and
all applicants will be informed of the status of their application (succe
