DESCRIPTION:**Get a hands-on introduction to Galaxy\, an online platform fo
 r data analysis**\n\n**About this workshop**\n\n[Galaxy](https://usegalaxy
.org.au/) is an online platform for biological research that allows people
to use computational data analysis tools and workflows without the need f
or programming experience.\n\nIt is an open source\, web-based platform fo
r accessible\, reproducible\, and transparent computational biomedical res
earch. It also captures run information so that workflows can be saved\, r
epeated and shared efficiently via the web.\n\nThis interactive beginners
workshop will provide an introduction to the Galaxy interface\, histories
and available tools. The material covered in this workshop is freely avail
able through the [Galaxy Training Network](https://training.galaxyproject.

supported by experienced facilitators.\n\n**Lead trainer:** Grace Hall\,
Melbourne Bioinformatics.\n\n\n**Learning objectives**\n\n\nBy the end of
the workshop you should be able to:\n\n1. Work with data on Galaxy\n 1.
Login to a Galaxy server\n 2. Upload data to a Galaxy server from:\n
       1. A file on your local computer\n 2. A file on a remote data
store with an accessible URL\n2. Use tools in Galaxy\n 3. Access tools
via the tool menu\n 4. Run tools using the tool interface including:\n
        3. Data transformation and filtering\n 4. Data visualisation
\n 5. View/access tool output\n3. Identify sources of support and furth
er training\n\n**Who the workshop is for**\n\n\nThis workshop is suitable
for Australian researchers with no prior knowledge of Galaxy and no progra
 mming experience.\n\n\n**Date/Time:** 9 September 1:00pm - 4:00pm AEST\n\
n\n**How to join**\n\nThis workshop is free but participation is subject t
