Developing lesson materials with generative AI
Generative AI can boost both the speed and range of materials during development, yet its educational value depends on the quality of the judgement surrounding its use.
This guide contains a 10 steps practical process for developing materials with AI from 1) Define Learning Goals before generating anything, to 10) Observe, revise, and assess the value of the materials.
This resource was developed under the project titled Empowering Education: Exploring AI for Teaching and Learning at ZHAW. The project was created in response to the 2025 Transformative Education Fund, or TEF, project call.
Its purpose is to make knowledge about artificial intelligence more accessible to teachers and to support its thoughtful use in teaching.
