Spatial omics technologies provide detailed maps of transcripts, proteins, and metabolites within tissues, opening new possibilities for studying complex biological systems. Navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of spatial omics platforms and deciding where to begin can, however, be challenging. This introductory course offers a clear, structured pathway into spatial omics for anyone planning their first experiments. You will gain a clear overview of available spatial omics platforms, their underlying principles, and how they compare in terms of strengths and limitations. We will also address practical aspects, including sample preparation, experimental design, access to infrastructure, and associated costs. The training combines expert lectures and informal discussions, creating opportunities for both learning and interactive exchange.
