This interactive workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the context of core facilities. It highlights how KPIs can be used to drive operational performance, financial sustainability, scientific impact, user satisfaction, future-proofing, and innovation. It focuses on aligning Core Facility KPIs with the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the institute. The workshop covers practical approaches for defining, tracking, and analyzing KPIs to improve operational efficiency and support impactful reporting. Through real-world examples and case studies, the course introduces best practices in KPI data management, including reproducibility, benchmarking, and portability. By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with actionable tools to support data-driven decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and run a more impactful and strategically aligned core facility that contributes to the broader institutional mission.
