In this webinar we will talk about:

• European data infrastructures & the importance of metadata standards
• Submission and curation tools from the European Bioinformatics Institute, including BioSamples, ENA, checklists and curations: Introducing EBI tools and best practices for submitting marine sample and sequence data to ENA, covering metadata standards, BioSamples integration, environmental tags, and third-party curation through the Clearinghouse (CDCH) to improve data discovery and reuse.
• Challenges related to heterogeneous metadata and third party curations: Introducing the Metalog database, which contains contextual data and profiles for over 150,000 metagenomic samples from humans, animals, and terrestrial and marine environments, covering the challenges faced in building the database and its key use cases.
