Annotation of proteins based on structure-based analyses is an integral component of the UniProt Knowledgebase (UniProtKB). UniProt works closely with the Protein Databank in Europe (PDBe) to map 3D structural entries (~100,000) to the corresponding UniProtKB accessions accurately.
